Hit The Lights: Best Pop Punk Album Of The Year

Hit The Lights will release their 2nd album "Skip School, Start Fights" next tuesday.

Skip School, Start Fights was produced by Rob Freeman (Hidden In Plain View) at Pilot Studios in New Jersey and mixed by Zach Odom and Kenneth Mount (Mayday Parade, All Time Low, Cartel).
Hit The Lights went through a lineup shuffle before they recorded Skip School, Start Fights. When former lead singer Colin Ross left the band last summer to pursue the quiet life, HTL decided it was time to unleash their secret weapon...it was time for their guitar player, Nick Thompson, to step into the limelight as lead singer. So how do they sound now that Nick's leading the charge? Better than ever. Obviously. Hit The Lights are now a four piece consisting of Nick Thompson (Vocals), Omar Zehery (Guitar), Nate Van Dame (Drums) and Dave Bermusk (Bass).
Head over to Myspace now for the exlusive album premiere of Hit The Lights' Skip School, Start Fights.

THE NOTWIST PLOT FALL TOUR

The Notwist will be touring this fall in support of The Devil, You, + Me, their first album since 2002’s Neon Golden. Following several European dates, the enigmatic German trio will make their first North American stop in Canada and continue through October, including shows at New York’s Webster Hall and Los Angeles’ Henry Fonda Theatre.

The Devil, You, + Me is an album driven by an individual and collective restlessness, something that manifests itself both in the endlessly inventive musical construction and the submerged lyrical narrative that hits you from the astonishing opening "Good Lies" all the way through to the fragile end-piece "Gone Gone Gone". The lyrics explore a world of uneasy being, structured like incantations formed to ward off the inescapable cycle of life and death, falling back on archetypes, religion, God and the devil himself.

“Even after a six-year siesta, the Notwist's approach to pop music-- exploiting both its formal properties and endless possibilities-- is no less captivating and visionary than before.”Pitchfork
