Michael Gross and The Statuettes - "Keep Driving"

Michael Gross and The Statuettes are an American Indie Rock/Pop band from Salt Lake City, Utah that formed in the summer of 2008. They released their debut EP “Dust & Daylight” in June of 2009. With their follow up six-song EP entitled “Impulse & Exports” (to be released in January of 2010), the band replaced the alt-twang sound found on their previous EP with reverb soaked guitars, and sweeping synthesizers that fit nicely into a moody pop/rock package.

Check out a stream of the first track from their EP, and visit their website for more info!

    The Octagon - Suicide Kings

“SUICIDE KINGS” is the first single from WARM LOVE AND COOL DREAMS FOREVER by THE OCTAGON. "Warm Love and Cool Dreams Forever is an album full of Mexico’s warm Fender Mustang, Bunny’s full bass tones, and the clean and crisp jazz-inflected drumming of Glass."

The Editors - You Don't Know Love (Cagedbaby Remix)

In This Light and On This Evening is the third studio album from British band Editors. It was released on 12 October 2009.

This track is a remix of what will be the 2nd single from the album. It sounds very old-school with the style of synth they use. Check it out though.

The Laughing - "Runner", "Help Me"

"Borrowing from some of the production tactics of classic dub recordings, with a small dose of noise rock, Austin, Texas-based THE LAUGHING has constructed an album of songs that bears only slight resemblance to its broad spectrum of influences, in turn creating something special and unique. Of the album title, band leader Logan Middleton explains, “’Fever’ was the title of a book I discovered as a child that had extensive accounts of my now deceased grandfather’s work as a missionary doctor in West Africa and his discovery and treatment of highly fatal disease known as Lassa Fever.” "

"THE LAUGHING also utilizes a vast array of percussion, bells, dulcimers, ukuleles, synths, clarinets, flutes, blankets of noise and lush harmonies.  Varied instrumentation and ornamental arrangements adorn core song structures and melodies that take cues from the likes of Harry Nilsson, Os Mutantes, Jorge Bem, Silver Apples, Love, Roxy Music, Sonic Youth, 13th Floor Elevators and more."

In case anyone is a fan of other genres, we occasionally post other music outside the world of indie pop rock.

"Philadelphia Slick, often described as a mix of Aesop Rock and The Roots’ early work, returns on Oil with concentrated rhythm, mesmerizing lyricism, and lush vocal and horn melodies."

Barzin - 2 free downloads "Nobody Told Me" and "Look What Love Has Turned Us Into"

"Barzin’s third album, Notes To An Absent Lover, balances the introspection of his earlier work with up-tempo orchestral arrangements that provide a richly melodic heartbeat to these glowing confessionals."
