Team Genius and their geeky bravado

It was a boring winter when Drew Hermiller enlisted his brother Chad and their friend Scott to form G-Whiz. Their nerd-core dreams were interrupted by a cease-and-desist order from a band by the same name on the West Coast. An identity crisis ultimately led to the formation of Team Genius. Erin Griffith and Emma Firth both joined in 2007 (adding a much needed feminine element to this boys’ club), contributing their skills in keys and vocals respectively. Comparable to the energy of The National, Team Genius bursts with its own brand of geeky bravado and poppy, earnest resonance from the Ohio heartland. Team Genius were the nail-biting, hand-standing kids you sat next to in Algebra class, only now they're waging a pop culture battle armed with idiot-proof lyrics and an ear full of sound.
