Listen: Hey Ocean

Hey Ocean aren't interested in doing things anyone's way but their own. From formulating the unique brand of pop that bolsters their sophomore release, It's Easier to Be Somebody Else, to releasing the record on their self-owned label, Pop Machine, these up-and-coming Canadians are blazing a trail of their own and wowing the music world in the process. Melding the quirky melodies of Asleigh Ball and David Beckingham with the wildly energetic bass of David Vertesi and the groove-obsessed drumming of Daniel Klenner, Hey Ocean's brand of post-modern pop bristles with distinctive life and energy. Hear for yourself on the infectious "Alleyways"

MP3: "Alleyways" (with permission from the Muse Box)

Boasting a stage-energy that's every bit as vivacious as their records' sound, Hey Ocean have already managed to share the stage with Bedouin Soundclash, Xavier Rudd, Sarah Harmer and Wintersleep, while making appearances at Calgary Virgin Festival, Saskatoon Jazz Festival and the Whistler Arts Festival. Currently, the band is trekking across Canada in support of Easier. So there's over a score of chances to witness one of Canada's most unique pop bands for yourself. We'd go to all twenty shows if we could.

Stay tuned! The band will be touring the West coast of the US this November!!
