Apple to launch iRecords?

All kinds of rumors floating around about a possible Apple announcement at MacWorld about a Record Label headed by Jay Z. ( link , link , link ) Though I personally highly doubt it, these kinds of deals never seem to work out. Look at Starbucks and Myspace who both launched record labels, with the idea of leveraging their massive distribution and reach to create instant Billboard Gold. Both failed to meet expectations but at the same time both never had a CEO like Jay Z who turned out to be a huge success at Def Jam. It should be an interesting MacWorld this year.
