THE DEAR & DEPARTED HIT THE ROAD W/ SAOSIN & WITHIN TEMPTATION

THE DEAR & DEPARTED

FRESH FROM DATES ON THE VANS WARPED TOUR

PREPARE

TO HIT THE ROAD WITH SAOSIN, AND WITHIN TEMPTATION THIS FALL

The Dear & Departed successfully finished the first leg of the Vans Warped Tour this summer and gained lots of new fans along the way. Now they’re preparing to hit the road with Saosin/Alexisonfire, and Within Temptation.

The band’s debut release, Something Quite Peculiar out on Science Records (Blessthefall, The Confession),was produced by Chris Vrenna (U2, Smashing Pumpkins), with additional production from AFI’s Jade Puget, and keeps gaining momentum as does their brand spankin’ new video “Tonight’s The Night” which just debuted on MTVU. The video was directed by Kevin Estrada who recently helmed the Serj Tankian video for “Saving Us.”

Guest spots on Something Quite Peculiar include Dallas Green of Alexisonfire/City & Color on “To Cut “A Long Story Short,” as well as Jessica Origliasso of The Veronicas on “Under the Milky Way.” Australia’s Pee Magazine wrote: “This album is the album most bands wait their entire career to make…Definitely a band to watch over the next few years.”

Based in Orange County, Calif the band is made up of Australian, New Zealand and Welsh transplants. Having already toured with Avenged Sevenfold and AFI, The Dear & Departed were the only band to cover fellow Aussie’s The Church this summer on the Vans Warped Tour. Influenced by the Cure, Joy Division and Sisters of Mercy, the band also delights in rocking out and decimating audiences.

See www.dearanddeparted.com or www.myspace.com/dearanddeparted for more info.

Talib Kweli and Hannah Montana in a High School Musical?

It looks like three is a charm for Talib Kweli as his third album Eardrum debuted last week at #2 on the Billboard Album Chart. The conscious rapper shocked most of the music industry when his new collection sold over 60K copies its first week of release. This is a huge feat considering that the other CDs in the top 3 were the tween centered soundtracks to High School Musical and Hannah Montana. Eardrum includes contributions from Norah Jones, Kanye West and Justin Timberlake while the current single, “Hot Thing,” features will.i.am on vocals. September will find Kweli releasing new episodes on his Blacksmith TV channel which you can find on You Tube.

The Confession Enlists for Tour of Duty with Megadeth

THE CONFESSION, FRESH FROM DEVASTAING AUDIENCES ALL SUMMER LONG ON THE VANS WARPED TOUR HIT THE ROAD WITH MEGADETH;

TOUR KICKS OFF SEPT 7 IN SEATTLE

The Confession, championed by Alternative Press as one of "100 Bands You Need To Know in 2007” pounded audiences this summer on the Vans Warped Tour. Blazing through tracks from their debut CD entitled Requiem, produced by Avenged Sevenfold's M. Shadows, the Dana Point, California band is now readying themselves to hit the road this Fall on the Tour of Duty with metal juggernaut Megadeth.

This month The Confession will film the video for “Dance with the Devil” in NYC with director Kevin Custer (Beneath the Massacre, The Destro, Subzero) and executive producer Darren Doane (Pennywise, Deftones, Underoath). Director Kevin Custer describes the video for “Dance with the Devil” as “raw and dirty and packed with a serious punch. The video unfolds with a young and innocent girl who unwittingly finds herself befriending a menacing host (the Devil) who takes her on a dark and sinister journey through a sensual underworld. Throughout the video The Confession will deliver a hard and explosive performance that will absolutely destroy.”
