New York City’s Jupiter One has landed the highly coveted opening slot on Regina Spektor’s upcoming North American tour. The acclaimed chanteuse personally chose the indie rockers who are gearing up for the release of their second album Sunshower. It is set to drop September 15th on Ryko.
While most of the cities are being finalized, the dates will run from September 24 to November 20. The following shows are confirmed so far with many more to be announced:
- 9/24 The Electric Factory Philadelphia, PA
- 9/30 DAR Constitution Hall Washington, DC
- 10/6 The Tabernacle Atlanta, GA
- 10/14 Radio City Music Hall New York, NY
- 10/28 The Greek Theatre Los Angeles, CA
“We are honored that Regina selected us to open her shows,” said Jupiter One’s frontman K Ishibashi. “Her fans are dedicated, song-loving people. They’ll be there early and know that the music was hand-picked and approved by her.”
Jupiter One played a high-profile slot at the Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival on August 8th and will play select headline dates leading up to the Regina Spektor tour. The band will continue touring in support of Sunshower through 2010.
